9/18/2007 10:58:24 AM ****IMPORTANT DETAILS**** - ASA Racing Insurance Plan for 2008
IMPORTANT DETAILS - ASA Racing Insurance Plan for 2008

Racing Speed Associates, L.L.C. dba ASA Racing**, a leader in short track racing which includes all ASA Member Tracks and various ASA Racing Regional Series situated throughout the United States, has provided a special member benefit for ASA Racing licensed participants in the 2007 season. Insurance coverages will be provided by Chubb Insurance Company, one of the world’s leading international insurance and financial services company and FKA Insurance,

ASA Racing has contracted for some of the broadest benefits available for participants in motorsports. The benefit plan provides coverage for covered medical expenses for an ASA member up to $500,000.00. The excess coverage will become available after all other insurance is used.

The participant accident policy defines the coverages, provides the schedule of benefits and explains the policy’s exclusions and limitations. The policy supersedes all other sources regarding the coverages and benefits. The policy’s coverages are extended to currently licensed ASA Racing members in good standing and who are injured while participating in a Racing Speed Associates / ASA Racing sanctioned event.

The policy is written on excess basis. The policy’s coverages apply when the ASA Racing member’s other forms of insurance have been exhausted (for example, the member’s health insurance). After the member’s other insurance has paid, or if the member has no available insurance, the total
benefit will be $500,000.00, available in the following steps; $50,000 participant accident policy, $450,000 catastrophic medical coverage. Policy limitations may apply if multiple injuries occur in the same incident. In addition to the medical coverages described above, ASA Racing is proud to include Accidental Death Benefit and Dismemberment schedule from $10,000 to $20,000.

ASA Racing will continue to offer the unique Dental plan covering up to $250 per tooth.

New for the 2008 racing season is coverage for ASA members while traveling to and from an ASA sanctioned event. From the moment you leave your home traveling to an ASA sanctioned event until you return home, you will receive the same benefits while racing at the ASA event. While there are some restrictions to this program (for complete details, please see the press release at http://www.asa-racing.com/story.asp?StoryID=7552), this innovative program is the first of its kind for the Motorsports industry.

ASA Racing is a leader in short track racing and provides unequalled protection for the health and welfare of its licensed members. If you have questions and need additional information regarding these coverages, please contact Steve Sinclair at Steve@fkainsurance.com or call him at 815-759-9269.

ASA Racing is proud to provide this coverage for its members participating at ASA Racing sanctioned events.

**Please Note: "ASA Late Model Series", which is a separate entity from ASA Racing and Racing Speed Associates, L.L.C., is not included in the terms or coverage of this policy for 2007. Please contact "ASA Late Model Series" regarding any questions concerning any coverage’s associated with the "ASA Late Model Series".

9/15/2007 10:49:31 AM Racing Speed Associates Lawsuit
December 3, 2007 - Daytona Beach, FL - Racing Speed Associates, LLC today filed suit in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois against Louis R. Varney, Jr. and ASA Late Model Series, LLC seeking to invalidate and cancel the ASA Late Model Series trademark registration.

The lawsuit alleges Varney illegally acquired the trademark registration by claiming ownership; in fact Varney has only been granted a license from its owner to use the trademark.

Dennis Huth, Managing Member of Racing Speed Associates said, “This lawsuit was necessitated when Mr. Varney started a campaign of misinformation about Racing Speed Associates rights of ownership to the ASA Racing name and ASA family of trademarks by threatening track operators with lawsuits if they did business with us. It’s unfortunate but we were forced to take action in order to protect our name and business reputation.”

Racing Speed Associates acquired all of the rights to the ASA family of trademarks, including American Speed Association, ASA Racing and ASA Late Model Series earlier this year from American Speed Association, LLC who most people in the racing world know was the successor to the ASA Racing founder Rex Robbins.

“We twice warned Mr. Varney that he was overstepping his bounds with his campaign against our client,” stated William L. Niro, attorney for Racing Speed Associates. “We tried to avoid litigation but Mr. Varney, by ignoring our requests to stop his activities, left us no choice. You cannot permit a licensee of a trademark to claim ownership in the mark and then seek to use it against the legitimate business activities of the rightful owner of that mark.”

ASA Racing is a leading auto racing sanctioning body that is comprised of 27 short tracks around the United States under the ASA Member Track program, as well as a variety of regional and national touring series. ASA BECOMES FIRST TO OFFER INSURANCE PROTECTION ON-AND-OFF THE RACETRACK
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (December 13, 2007) – “The USA quite rightly leads the world in many, many fields, but sadly highway safety is certainly not one of them,” said Eddie Wren, executive director of Drive and Stay Alive, Inc. on their web site. And with a reported 6,328,000 highway accidents*, Wren can easily backup his claim.

Certainly, some of these accidents must have involved a racer or team heading to or from the racetrack. And while every sanctioning body can claim some level of insurance protecting these competitors during an event, only the American Speed Association now offers protection while traveling to and from an ASA-sanctioned competition.

“The ASA insurance policy has always been head-and-shoulders above anything else available in short track racing and I am very excited that we can take another innovative step forward in protecting our members by covering them on-and-off the racetrack,” said Dennis Huth, president of Racing Speed Associates which owns the American Speed Association. “They can take comfort in knowing they now have an additional level of protection from the time they leave their home right up to the time they pull back into the driveway, if they follow the basic tenets. The ASA is the only sanction to offer this unprecedented level of coverage and this is just another example of our continually working to improve the state of short track racing across the United States.”

ASA members in good standing will be eligible for a $500,000 Excess Medical Benefit as well as a $20,000 Accidental Death and Dismemberment Benefit. Coverage for the member begins while traveling to a location promoting an ASA-sanctioned event and continues until arrival home again, assuming the basic guidelines are followed and no exclusions, such as drinking and driving, are violated. Complete detailson the program, including all the listed exclusions, can be found online at http://www.asa-racing.com/story.asp?StoryID=7552 .

“We are really proud to be associated with the American Speed Association and bring such a unique program to the membership,” said Don DeWitt, executive vice-president of WSIB Motorsports Insurance. “I have been able to work with Dennis and really see how he thinks outside of the box when it comes to taking care of the ASA membership. This new insurance policy to protect members on-and-off the racetrack is another example of leading the industry and setting new standards. We are extremely fortunate to have our partner carrier, Federal Insurance Company a member company of Chubb Group of Insurance Companies, work with us so closely to arrange this unique motorsports program”

ASA members can rest assured that their coverage on the racetrack won’t be diminished by the announcement either. The ASA insurance program, always noted for its excellence, affords track operators the ability to purchase general and excess liability, automobile, an expanded ASA-exclusive $500,000 participant accident medical, workers compensation and health insurance.

The ASA insurance is available to those involved in the ASA Member Track, Regional and National Racing programs.

The ASA Member Track program is comprised of 27 short tracks around the United States, as well as a variety of regional and national touring series. For more information, call (386) 258-2221 or send an e-mail to info@asa-racing.com. For news and information from all the racetracks and tours involved in the ASA, visit www.ASA-Racing.com.
